Maintaining your John Deere lawn tractor
As summer warms up, we finally have the chance to get out our John Deere tractor to cut our lawns. However, the start of the season means spring and summer maintenance. Here are a few things you need to know before, during and after the work.
Oil change
First of all, if your tractor hasn’t been used over the winter, it’s a good idea to change its oil before it’s used for the first time. The reason for this is quite simple: if your tractor is not stored in a heated area, moisture could have accumulated in the oil reservoir as a result of temperature variations. Since oil and water don’t mix well, problems could arise in the near future.
If you own an E or S series tractor, you automatically have the “Easy-Change” system, exclusive to John Deere (except E140 & S140 models), which allows you to change your oil in literally 30 seconds. Please note that you can return your old cartridge to your local branch, and we’ll take care of its recovery.
